During my career break, I embarked on a journey of self-discovery and creative exploration. This series of playful animations, inspired by the psychological concept of "geon" (basic shapes), was born from my desire to stay relevant in the digital landscape and rediscover my passion for creative expression.
As a designer, I believe in breaking down complex concepts into their fundamental elements, just as a forest is composed of countless trees. The term "geon" not only resonates with me as a design principle but also phonetically echoes my Korean name, Jiwon.
The simple animations, created in After Effects, were originally intended for my three beloved pets: Sancho, Aloo, and Nutu. Their endless fascination with these playful visuals suggests that they appeal to both young and older audiences. The simplicity of the animations may resonate with younger viewers, while their calming and repetitive nature could offer a sense of tranquility for older audiences seeking a meditative experience.
